Meet Our Staff

Pastor Michael Smith - Mike joined Immanuel in August of 2011. He comes from Texas, where he earned his Master of Divinity degree at George W. Truett Theological Seminary. For fun, Mike enjoys hanging out with his beautiful wife and 2 children, reading, playing guitar, and catching a good movie. He doesn’t have much time for the last because of the two children already mentioned, but he wouldn’t have it any other way!
Beth Ward, Worship Leader - Beth is a life-long member of Immanuel and met her husband in the congregation. Throughout her time at our church, Beth has served in various capacities, including keeping children in the nursery and serving several times as our volunteer music minister. In 2004 she reprised the latter role and has been leading worship at Immanuel ever since. When she’s not at the church, Beth is working at Generations Consignment and Boutique, which she opened with her husband, daughter, and son-in-law.
Cheryl Dalman, Church Secretary-Treasurer - Cheryl has served as Immanuel’s secretary since June of 2004, and any member will tell you that she does a great job of keeping everything up and running. Having lived in the Durham area for going on thirty years, Cheryl enjoys spending time with her family and clothes-shopping for her grandchildren.
