What We Do, How We Serve
At Immanuel, we come to church and ask, "what can I do for God and His children", instead of asking, "what ministries does the church have to offer me"? We strive to live the challenge of God's Word, and reach out to the whole person in our community -- just as Christ did.
Opportunities for Service
- "...our Thursday Bread"
- On Wednesday evenings, our young adult group gathers and individually packages breads donated from a local Panera Bread franchise. The breads are then personally delivered to residents of one of Durham's local apartment complexes to those in need.
- R.O.C. Closet
- "Reaching Our Community" Closet - Immanuel's members bring in gently used clothing to the church. At the end of the month, these clothes are distributed to residents of one of Durham's local apartment complexes who could not otherwise afford new clothes.
- Angel Flight
- Some of our members participate in a network of drivers that offer transportation from Raleigh-Durham Airport to Triangle Area hospitals to patients and their families.
- Yates Baptist Association Ministries
- Immanuel's members are very active in the local work of the Yates Baptist Association. This organized network of local churches offers many opportunities for service, and meets many needs that could not be met by one church alone.
Please contact us if you have questions, or for more information on how you can be a part of these and other ministries at Immanuel.
