"Prayer and Mission"

In the summer after my junior year in college, I had the privilege of going on a month-long mission trip to Kenya. The trip was sponsored by my school, Wayland Baptist University, and the leader was a science professor who had served as a missionary to Kenya for nineteen years before returning to the States.

With a seasoned missionary guiding us, my group was able to engage in a number of activities, from interacting with the Hindu community in the capitol city of Nairobi to working with missionaries to the Samburu people group in the much more remote town of Maralal. Needless to say, the trip was challenging as I stepped far out of my comfort zone, but it was also a valuable experience that I wouldn’t trade.
