What Our Members Have To Say
"Church" can mean so many different things to people today. Hear what it means to us.
We love Immanuel for being a real church family where we love and support one another. We welcome all people in love and fellowship, and we work together in joy and harmony. We listen to God together as He speaks to us through his word.

I've been a member of Immanuel for 60 years, and it has been a friendly and loving church. Immanuel has been a lighthouse to me.
-- M.S.
Immanuel is more than a building, it is a family to me. Our fellowship of believers has the extraordinary ability to welcome newcomers with open arms. We acknowledge the importance of missions to the whole person as one of Christ's commandments. Come join our fellowship and become truly mission-minded for Christ.
-- B.W.
I first came to Immanuel when I was a student at Duke, and I've been a member now for 20 years! The warmth of the welcome I received (and still receive) always stays with me, even in hard times. I love Immanuel for being a church that is both welcoming and theologically sound. I've seen so much of God's love and mercy here.

I can sum up what makes Immanuel so special to me in one word--love. The people of Immanuel share their love in so many different ways. Some churches seem friendly when you meet them at the church, but never recognize you away from the church building. Immanuel folks recognize and love one another in all kinds of places and circumstances.
I like the hugs and smiles that we share -- so many that the pastor has to try to corral us all back to our seats during the Sunday morning welcome. I feel the closeness when one of us has a loss and we all come together. I feel God's presence through and with His children in the different ways we try to share His word.
Another way we show our love for our Lord is through worship in music. That love burst open like a flower in the springtime as we feel His Holy Spirit quietly speak through the words of the songs. Sometimes we feel the Spirit roar like a river. But always, always we feel that God has shared His Love with us and we want to share that love with others. That is why Immanuel is special to me.
